Well, it seems like I've always had very close friends who were older than me, like a mother-figure. And even though I have reached that 50-something mark, I still seem to be getting close with women older than myself, but also some younger men and women. I think it's great, because we can each be of help to the other, gaining insight & wisdom. In the Bible it does tell the women to mentor the younger women.
On the topic of the younger ones, I like to listen to them, find out how their minds work, see how the younger generation is getting along, just 'hear' the excitement of a life just starting out on it's own. They also help me to understand a little of the current slang!
Then there's the older ones, who listen to me and help me to understand something when I can't figure it out, because they have all that life experience under their belt. Or we both listen to each other as we each reminisce.
It's just nice to be able to talk comfortably with someone who is different from yourself, no judgment, no condemnation, just two minds meeting for an exchange of information for a bit. You can learn so much! These are frequently people I've worked with, because that's where you spend a large part of your life. And I don't see anything wrong with it at all. I like to just sit out on the steps outside at work, and watch all the work going on, and spending my break time or lunch hour just talking with my best friend(s). Or grab a cup of coffee after work, or make a run to the mall. That kind of stuff. By the way, some of my best friends have been in the 70-80 age range.

well, first off. She couldnt be a child molester since u said u were in college. So, how can that be???? U are an adult and the reason u are meeting adults is because your not in high school anymore. The only adults u met there probably were teachers.
When u are in the work force, adults u will be surrounded with the rest of your life. The decisions u make are your own.
Not all people that are over 30 are wacked out!!!!!!

Yes I have. When I was 24-25 my best work friend was a 55 year old guy. I think it was because he was like a Dad figure who was looking out for me - no weird molester like vibes at all.
He had a daughter that he had a strained relationship with and I was newer with the company so I needed guidance in my career.
It just kind of worked out - since there was no attraction there was trust and a comfort level tht just worked for us.

Older people will make you feel good because they have the ''ive been there'' factor. and they are very understanding because of that, and they will always help you and guide you through the best path. There is nothing wrong with being friends with an older person, its good, because they protect you, and maybe who knows other feelings will come, and if this happens you must be very understanding as well. Good luck X

You'd be on the set of coronation highway! In thought i assume if not something ever happend, there could have been no enormous Bang which might advise that circumstances for existence would not have been created!! In physics isn't there a regulation that states each action HAS AN equivalent AND OPPOSITTE reaction?? subsequently if there replaced into no preliminary action, evoloution would not exist.... Cool! Existential questions:)

Yeah sure, i make friends with co-workers of all age. My best friend at work is this older guy from Argentina, it's pretty funny when we both get talking. Because his English is rather poor and i have a hell of a time understanding him, and i have a thick British accent and he doesn't understand a word i'm saying. But we get on greaaaaat.

Isn't it funny how the moralists and other fear-mongers have painted this image many of us just accept on blind faith that someone that likes people out of their age bracket is someone not to be trusted and vilified?
Old people do learn things from young people (and young people can learn from the those older than them) and a friend is a friend, no matter how old they may be.

I am almost 60,
but when I was your age
a million years ago,
I had a best friend that
was quite a bit older,
she was just lonely, I think.

Oh, hecks yeah... they are fonts of wisdom and ever so entertaining to listen to.
I get along better with the older generations at work way better than people my own age. They have an awesome work ethic and don't back stab.
