Why do women lie about their age?

Because after menopause they do not age as gracefully as men because sudden change in hormone level. They are insecure and their looks are very important to them. They constantly looking for approval so by lying about their age, they hope people will say that they look young for their age, a much needed ego booster for the insecures. So next time a woman lie to you about her age, just pretend like you don't know and comment that she look young for her age anyway, so she can get through the day without crying....LOL...

Only when I was 15 trying to get into a bar did I lie about my age. Since hitting 19, never lied.

I wondered about that for a long time and what I found is that a women is summed up sexually by her age. The younger a women is the longer she will be wanted. In the society we live, for what ever reason, The age of 40 or more is a death curse. In america we are obsessed with age. My mother says that at one time not long ago your age meant the difference between being and old maid or a married women. I guess we all have different reasons. I have had men get very suprised when I tell them my age, and they always, always make the comment " You look much longer than your age". What ever that means........................

I'm jumping on a small limb here...but I think that some women are sensitive about the way they look. Some women want to stay young so they tend to say they look younger than they really are. For instance, my mom is 60 years old but she tends to tell people that she's only 50. I don't mind telling people my age. Plus I noticed that some women look young but are older....so they just want to remain young....I guess.

some women lie about their age because of the misconception that they loose their 'value' as they get older.... if they are single there must be something wrong with them so sometimes they lie.....

Maybe for the same reason a lot them lie about their weight, or their shoe size. or clothing size. It makes them feel better ??

I resent the generalization. I'm a woman, and I've never lied about my age.
