Ebony is an amazing name that shouldn't be restratined by social taboo's
i also like the name ivory...so strong...dare i say, fierce?

I don't know about Ivory but Ebony could be named for the color of her hair - like Snow White - "her hair was black as ebony"

I've never met anyone with those names except for Ebony and Monique. And both Ebonys and the one Monique were all white. A possibly Spanish Tyrone and an Aboriginal Keisha did go to my school though, I just didn't know them.

Yes.... I know heaps of white girls named Ebony. I don't know anyone named Ivory though.
What do you think? If you are asking a serious question then I am intrigues as to why race would matter

Yeah! Ivory is an awesome name! Ebony is also an awesome name! and really.. names shouldn't be race-specific..

This is interesting because I thought about that question tonight. Were you watching American's next model? A black woman there is named Ebony and I was thinking it is such a pretty name, why can't everyone use the name.

You can be named anything. There are no rules to personal name choices. What about all the white folk that possess the last name of Black. Is that allowed? Names usually reflect an emotion.

I know a black Ivory, but I don't know any white Ebonys. I don't think there's anything wrong with black Ivorys & white Ebonys. =)

Sure, but I personally don't like it.
It's not like girls named Charlotte will be hard workers, but I prefer my Darcie's to be dark haired or skinned, and my Bianca's pale or light haired.
Especially names that have sound like a color, it's very odd to me. I was watching Ninja Warrior, and there was this blonde haired, blue eyed, pale white girl was named Ebony. I couldn't help it; I cracked up! There was nothing remotely close to ebony on her whole body.

Yes of course they can. I know a little white girl and her name is Ebony. I think it is a pretty name and it suits the little girl I know cause she is pretty

a ethnic girl can not be called ivory
