Ten complete games in a season used to be pretty commonplace up until about the 1990s. I think the last guy to do it was Randy Johnson in 1999 with Arizona.

Although Wells had 9 in 2000, Colon, Halladay, and Mulder had 9 in 2003 and Livan Hernandez came close with 9 in 2004, the last person was Randy Johnson in the 1999 season with 12 CG.
The last people before him were actually just the year before when Schilling threw 15 CGs and Erickson had 11.

Randy Johnson had 12 with Arizona in '99.
