My dog recently died.
Please don't make any cruel comments.
I hope this site doesn't have a "war" going on like R&S does.! (cynics and believers battling it out!)

My Dad's dog was quite ill and had to be put down. One of the symptoms of his nephritis was the uncommon growth of his toenails. We could always tell when it was time to clip them again by the exceptionally loud clicking of his nails against the floor. After we put him down, I would still hear his nails clicking on the hall floor every now and then. It definitely wasn't our other dog as she would hear it too and come to see what the noise was. My father passed away a few months later and I heard the dog's nails clicking on the hall floor, then click as he came down the stairs (the stairs were carpeted after he passed so there couldn't have been clicks).
The clicks went into the downstairs room my Dad had used as bedroom, then stopped. I haven't heard them since.

I have had my dogs bark at something that I could not see or hear. Dogs are great at picking up on spirit activity. They look down the hallway when there is nobody else home. Hopefully your question is not limited to just dogs passing away.

About a month after my beloved D.D. died I was sleeping in my bed and the alarm rang... I was vaguely aware of her sleeping on my leg , and when the alarm went off I felt something startle( at the sound) on my leg. I did not see her but I sure felt her. That was the last time.

My cousin was dying of cancer and during her last week on this plane she saw her child hood dog in the room and said aloud "Oh look, there's Happy"........I knew then it was only a matter of time.

Also, in our last apartment we had ghost cats that used to run around. We all saw them out of the corners of our eyes... the cats used to chase them up to the closed closet doors sliding trying to halt and then crashing right into the door. On our last night there I was packing up some boxes in the kitchen, when I looked down to the floor I saw a Siamese cat just walking and then vanish. He was just walking minding his own business, did not even look at me. I was surprized that it was a Siamese. We had only seen glimpses of tails and rears prior to that.

Welcome to the battle zone of believers and nonbelievers, sorry!
We had a donkey die a few months back and my wife and I have both seen him walk through our living room. He's only a thin white vapor the shape of a donkey now. He always wanted to come into the house when he was alive. Also had a ghost cat in a house I lived in a long time ago.
Don't know if that helps any.

So sorry about your dog!

I have often thought about this! It seems to me that if there is a GOD, (which I believe there is) He would consider Dogs one of his most special creations. In this line of reasoning one would most also be led to believe that Dogs have a very special place in the afterlife.

Blessings

Yes, actually I had a dog whom passed away some years ago.
He sometimes visit me in my dreams. He would climb and lay on my chest when I'm asleep.

It was no coincidence that he/she entered your life, and he/she will remain connected to you, not even death can do you part.

Dogs have soul, all dog goes to heaven; this I know.

I love dogs (I own 1 dog and 2 cats) and I'm very sorry about you losing your friend. But no, I have not experienced anything paranormal at all.

I had to put my dog down about 2 years ago. Since then I have recorded 2 EVPs relating to her. One was her name being spoken and another was after I asked if she was still around there was a reply, "She loves you". Both EVPs can be heard at my web site http://gsiweb.org in the EVP section.
Check it out. One of our groups interests is animal spirits and hauntings.

Sorry about your dog. I know how you feel.
Yes, I have seen my dog many times since she passed. Our other little dog seems to know when she comes around. He will sit next to her grave, wag his tail, and put toys or bones there.

I am sorry to hear your dog has died. I'm sure you two had a very close bond and I have no doubt but that she will live on your fond memories.
