Can I collect money that I have paid for a gardner and for the water bill from my landlord? It is not written anywhere in my contract that eather party has to pay for these things. But someone told me it was the landlords responsibillity to pay. I have been paying for both for two years and I would like to know if I can leagally ask to get reimbursed from my landlord. If so how should I go about doing this?

if it isn't stated in the lease agreement that the landlord will take care of the water bill and lawn maintenance, then i don't think you are going to be able to ask for it... it's a bummer, but the lease is binding, and if it ever came to it, your landlord would probably win a case b/c of the lease.

SORRY! i know it sucks... hopefully you can have a conversation with your landlord to see what your options are.

No, it is understood that all maintanence arrangements and utilities are the responsibility of the renter unless otherwise noted. You could only ask to be reimbursed if the landlord required you to have a gardener, in which case they would hire them themselves. While maintaining the grass may be a necessary, having flowers is not.

A gardner? No way. That's hardly something that's required.

As to the water bill, utilities including water are usually the tenant's responsibility unless the lease says otherwise, but you could check to see if there are any local laws making the landlord responsible.
