THe printer I have used to print, but all of a sudden it just stopped. Everything is ok. THere's paper loaded in the tray, there's still ink, it's connected to the computer, and the computer knows that it's there, but it won't print. When I go to print a page, the computer looks like it's preparing to print, but it never does.

Is there something wrong with the system?

It's a Dell Photo AIO Printer 926.

And I know that it prints. When I tell it to align the cartriges, it will do a test print, and the print is sucessful, so there is nothing wrong with the printer. It's not on pause, either. I checked.

Given what you have written, I would reinstall the driver. Somehow it may have gotten corrupted.

Check under the Printers control panel to make sure your printer isn't paused. If that doesn't work, try restarting the computer and power-cycling the printer (leaving the printer unplugged from USB and power for more than 30 seconds). If that doesn't clear it up, reinstall the driver. If the printer is a network printer (ie, it's attached to an ethernet cable, network printer interface, or wireless network printer interface), check the network settings of the printer and the printer driver's TCP/IP port to make sure IP addresses match.

And if that doesn't work, then you probably need a new printer, as there's most likely an internal error.

What kind of printer? Does it feed with rollers? The rollers may be worn smooth. Very, very carefully - so you don't lose a finger - see if you can rub the rollers with an emery board.

What about the paper? Did you fan it? Sometimes if you fan it, tap it on a hard surface so the edges are lined up, it works.

Sometimes just reversing the paper gets it going.

Man, I wish I knew. But I am what you call "technilogically challenged". Or at least that's what my daughter says. I have a similar problem with one of my printers too, so if ya figure it out, let me know. lol
