I'm 23 years old female, i've had this pain in my pelvic vulva outer area for over 3 months. its a pain that's on the outside of my outer labia but not on it, and on the vulva area. It's almost like its on the muscle (?) of the pelvic bone, the skin on top of it so to speak. i've got a womens rehabilitation therapy next week, my gynocologist seems to think its mostly pelvic bone, i think its more on the skin on the pelvic bone if that makes sense. Anybody have any ideas of what this could possbily be? also, some pain during intercourse, mostly upon entry. No infections that i know of & not pregnant.

Sometimes muscle spasm of the pelvic floor can cause pain in the vulvar area. Some women I've talked to have had good results with physical therapy to the area.

Problems with the bladder such as thru Interstitial Cystitis (an inflammatory condition of the bladder wall) can cause pain around the pubic bone and radiate to the vulvar area. When problems with the bowel such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome occurs it can cause pain and spasm of the pelvic floor for some women.
