Ok, let's be honest here....
Whether they try to convince us that their reporting is "fair and balanced" or not, Fox News is a conservative, right-leaning platform whose audience recognizes the fact that the fanatical, liberal left is full of these pinhead, anti-war, Bush-hating Hollywood fanatics who take every opportunity to use their celebrity to make bonehead, idiotic statements and, Sally Field is one of the most vociferous among the group and simply put, made a complete a*ss out of herself proving to all watching that she and the rest of the crazy left-wing celebs simply like to hear themselves preach while making absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Fox News was simply using the tools they had available to send a message to all Ms. Fields fans that it was time to tell her...."Ok, now it's time for you to shut the f**k UP!!"
I mean, c'mon...what does "If the mothers ruled the world there would be no g-d wars in the first place" mean?
Just what was the message Ms. Fields was trying to convey?
The only thing it brought to light was the fact that a certain portion of the audience, those who cheered, are mindless followers of idiocy and are easily swayed and susceptible to the rantings of anyone who sounds like they are sending an anti-conservative rant.

The TV-rating of the award show might have been lower than that of the news programs. Thus the non censorship of the news programs. However, it's their own network; they can do whatever they want. It's not Sally Field's right to have whatever she says broadcast on Fox's program. They can arbitrarily censor whatever they want.

It can depend on time of day (chances of children watching). I think kids are more likely to be watching an award show than some late evening news program (whatever your were watching). It's just rude to curse like that on tv no matter who you are or for what reason.

Maybe because it was an award show not an anti war rally.
