Anyone who is unphilosophical (such as a politician) probably shouldn't write a book about ethics.
The best books on this topic are written by philosophers from Plato on.

Politicians, like all of us, should do what they can to get what they want, remembering all the while that they, like everyone, depend on the behavior of others for everything they want for their entilre lives-- and that is exactly what the central issue of ethics is:

How should individuals and groups of individuals treat each other in order to most efficiently get what they want (which necessarily involves helping others also get what they want)?

maybe they should learn some ethics first before trying to write a book about such.

Maybe their books could be useful. We could read them and then know exactly what not to do if we want to be ethical.
