Yes you should play! Doing something for your friends is a noble and worthwhile gesture. Lots of good players have asthma, in virtually every sport.
Never let fear of failure keep you from trying anything. If you go into this with a positive attitude, a goal of having fun, and the satisfaction that you've given your friends the opportunity to participate in something that they enjoy, you'll find the decision very rewarding.
By all means, do it!

Are you talking about that sport that's essentially a wimpy offspring of rugby? Plus, Wayne Rooney, dider drogba, emile heskey, and Titus bramble would murder half of your (gay) football players. I'd put my money that you're an ignorant h*mo from the south, that's never played the real football. Also, soccer players are fitter, so most of your overly obese tight-ends would collapse after a 30 second sprint. Why do you think a normal american football game takes like 4 hours. Keep stocking up on those Big Macs :) American Football is just liked because of the airhead cheerleaders you have. Also, you guys call yourselves world champs and incredibly tough at this sport because no one cares enough to play such a Neanderthal sport. "Why don't you learn a little about the game, then criticize it?" I hope you see the irony in that, dumb@ss. Edit: I really doubt you do, otherwise you wouldn't be posting such a down syndrome question.

You are not born into this world knowing everything. You're born into this world knowing nothing but crying. If you're really interested in soccer, as long as you put in the hard work, you'll get your reward. You'll improve and do well. So, do not be dejected by what other people think of you.

You have to love it, or at least have an interest in playing, if you want to succeed and have a blast. Find someone to practice with you! Also, about the asthma part, I have asthma, and I play- I take Advair EVERY day, and keep my inhaler in my bag... that seems to work for me.

It's on you man. You dont have to join to help, you can just spread the news and help find people who are really interestead in playing, what I can advice you to do is not join because of pressure, do it because you like it.
