What happened? Our forefathers had it right, Equal rights for all men. But now society has changed this, and we aren't allow the equal right to Marry. Has America lost sense of what our forefathers wrote while they established this country?

Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituded among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Think about that. Think about how open it left law to be, historically. In some ways it justifies the creed that the black American struggle is the same as the gay American struggle. I used to kind of thing that but it isn't the same, it's similar, if you take away slavery. Odd, isn't it, how ancestory affects personal interaction. Not always but I'm thinking of for example The Inquisition. Spain caused genocide ot the Jews and the Muslims that lived there for 1500 years. That was 1492, same year Columbus sailed. Then you have the whole American slavery thing and that doesn't sit right with me. And all this crap continues worldwide, it isn't right.

The arguement that the pursuit of happiness is guaranteed is true. Sad that actual happieness isn't. It was a failsafe put into the words on purpose. To make issues talked about. The founding fathers weren't stupid. They new things about issues would change with time and that the unbending oak snaps in the wind but a bending willow survives the storm intact.

HAPPINESS...and unfortunately, the government denies so many people of this basic right, a right we should all be entitled to.

And you're right. "Our forefathers brought forth upon this continent a nation dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal." Famous words said by a famous person that almost anybody can recite...and yet they have lost all meaning.

As long as there is even ONE PERSON in this nation that does not have the same rights as another, we are not a nation of equality; we are a nation of hipocrisy.

the blank is happiness, but I gather you knew that. What you have to remember is that this country is run by old religious men who don't believe in allowing women their own sexuality, so it's difficult to allow others their own sexuality as well. What they don't understand is that when they constantly cheat on their wives, they violate the sanctity of marriage, which is their primary argument against same sex marriage. Go figure!!!
