the rich raping the poor.... the same problem in every other country.....

Financial and crooked politicians. Well the financial part could be helped out if they would get some good Ag. Economists down there and as beautiful as that part of the world is it could become THE tourist destination of the world, they could make a killing! If they could get politicians that would be good men and get investors to come and put money in for hotels and things like that. Of course they also need better police to get a lot tougher on crime. There are areas of Latin America I would not go without an armed escort. But it is such a pretty place.

Poverty, poverty, and more poverty.

The economies down there are a total mess....that's why they are coming up here.

Solution.... The USA and the World Bank should cancel all their loans, so the individual nations can take that money and reinvest it in their poverty stricken nations.

Also, the USA needs quit meddling in all their internal affairs. Because we helped create the mess(like supporting dictators like Pinochet).

Also, Hugo Chavez's reforms has helped his nation grow, so don't blame him for all their problems. The distribution of wealth has really helped. When 95% of the money is controlled by 10%, it's a recipe for a mess.
