Refraction is when light travels from one medium to another for example is you fill half a glass with water and stick a pencil look at the part where the pencil meets the water its kinda slanted! Thats refraction the result happens because the pencil is light in the form of an object and half the glass is gas the top part and half the glass is liquid the bottom part those are two diffrent pieces of matter so they are twp diffrent mediums which make the pencil refract! Reflection when you look in the mirror what do you see? yourself right! well that is a reflection of you or a mirror image of an object. reflections often happen in water and mirrors and shadows in water for example there is a building and there is a lake in front of it then at evening the building will reflect on the water you can see the building in the water! get it? mirrors you already know and shadows is really easy!

REFRACTION IS LIKE REFLECTING LIGHT, GIVING THE LIGHT BEAM A NEW DIRECTION, BACK TO THE SOURCE. DIFFRACTION IS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME, BUT GIVES A BEAM OF LIGHT A DIRECTION THAT PUSHES IT AWAY FROM THE SOURCE, OBJECT OR OBSERVER. DISPERSION SPREADS OUT THE BEAM INTO ALL ITS COMPONENTS. PRETTY MUCH WHAT A PRISM DOES TO A BEAM OF LIGHT OR WATER DROPS THAT FORM RAINBOWS
