Please suggest me (if any) Duty free shops in NY/NJ.
I am planning to buy electronic items like Apple IPod, Canon Digicam , Sony Vaio Laptop, Digital Photoframe etc. I have heard that 'Garden State Plaza, Paramus' is offering 0% sales tax. Is it true ?
If i place and order from Internet, do i have to pay any sales tax ? I m currently staying in Exchange Place, NJ

The airports only. And you need an international boarding pass to buy most of the stuff there.

Online orders have no sales tax, as long as you are in a different state from the online retailer.

In NJ, some local jurisdictions like Paramus and Elizabeth have funny tax statuses and exemptions. I'd look into this further.

like the other person said, the airport, but in my experiance, i was only allowed to purchase duty free if i was leaving the country. Unless you are going to buy something off the street, don't count on buying anything in jersey without paying tax, sales tax is now 7%. The government wants our money!!! Good luck anyway!!

I don't know of any tax-free areas in NJ (Connecticut may still have them) but there are (or used to be) reduced sales tax "Enterprise zones" where the tax is only 3%. The only one I know if is in Elizabeth, near Newark airport
