I need an interesting book for a book report for school. I am a freshman in highschool and I like sci-fi books that talk about outer space. It has to be acceptable highschool English class. It has to be at least 300 pages long and interesting. IT CANNOT I REPEAT IT CANNOT HAVE A MOVIE BASED ON IT!! Thank you.

We are required to read 300 pages no less. If we read a book that has a movie we don't get credit.

the wild card series, edited by george r r martin, no film version, just a comic book version last i heard

Red Mars - Kim Stanley Robinson
Both are excellent sci-fi books and have lots of stuff you can use for a book report. As far as I (and imdb) know, neither has a movie.

I don't know how many pages it is but Enders Game by Orson Scott Card was one of my favorites. I hear it will be a movie next year sometime.

Most anything by Ray Bradbury--some of his many books have been made into movies, but not all, and they're really good! I read most of his stuff when I was your age, and I want to read 'em again. Good luck.
