When I lived in Wisconsin there was Cave of the Mounds. It was one of those places we used to have a field trip to probably once a year. I loved those years!

It was a nice little tour and they had names for the formations.

One thing I kind of remember were stalagmites and stalagtites. Stalagmites go up and "might" touch the ceiling one day where staglaglites hold onto the ceiling tight.

Most recently in central Oregon, about 6 miles south of Bend. There are some great lava tube caves there.

I lived in a cave for three weeks on the island of Crete in Greece many years ago. It was the best way to be able to afford a vacation in Greece, and it was great fun.

Yes, went on a cavern tour on Maui, Hawaii, and have also been in an old mine in Arizona, and an abandoned gold mine in Baja, Mexico. The one in mexico had an earthquake fault running through it and was collapsing in some parts..so we kept one person outside at all times to be able to go for help if someone was to become trapped. It was pretty risky going in but we hiked 4 miles up a mountain to get to it..so there was no way I was NOT going in.
