Awlen Mia

I'm looking for something that won't humiliate a child once she gets older. Also something that is just... pretty.

Boy name suggestions would be appreciated also. Something a little different, but not so out there that I'd be looked at as a freak for naming my child.

Oh, those names are very pretty. Awlen is nice, very unique, never heard that before.

Bryce Elliot
Caleb Owen
Callum Ellis
Carter Nathaniel
Chandler David
Charles Benjamin

Isabella and Madelynn I think are too popular right now. Alice, Sara Lily, or Mia Shay would be beautiful and make her unique! And Awlen, although it sound pretty, is WAY too unique. That's the one that your child might dislike when they grow up.

Go to nymbler.com to check out some boy name suggestions. All you do is type in any names (like those girl names) you already like, and the website will automatically find other names based on your 'style'.

PS I love Alden Alexander!

I really like Madelynn Shay but I also think Shae makes an adorable boy's name. My husband and I actually had that picked out as a name for our first son. Shae Bentley for the first and middle name. We ended up using Damon Scott, however, Shae is still one of our favorites.

So for girls I like:
Madelynn Shay
Madelynn Lanae
Madelynn Faith
or
Malinda Faith ---nickname could be Mali (like Molly)
Livia Isabella
Lily LaShay

For boys I like:
Shae Bentley
Damon Scott
Dallon Curtis
Donavon Shae
Dalton Blake

Best of luck!

They're all very nice except Awlen. That's the only one that stands out as being a little too out there, and the child may have trouble with it. I think my favorite is Madelynn Shay.

The only good ones are Alice Lenore and Sarah Lily. Isabela and Madalyn are pretty, but ridiculously overused -- they'll be going through life as Isabela A. and Madalyn-with-a-Y. I've been Caitlin-with-a-C my whole life, and it gets old fast.

Shay and Awlen are just awful. Shae is a boys' name, or a nickname for Shannon/Shana. Awlen just looks made up. Mia's pretty, but it's also a nickname (for Amelia).

You are on the right track. Try to select a name that does not sound stupid in an obituary or make and adult sound like a kid. Stick with the classics and normal spelling. Naming your kid something strange is just setting them up to be teased or put into a category with others who have a strange name.

Alice Lenore is easily my favorite combo. Love it! ;) Sarah Lily is also very nice, though obviously more common.

I quite like Madeline or Madeleine (LIEN and LEN ending sounds, respectively), but I don't care for the Madelynn misspelling/pronunciation nearly as much. And the rest are simply not my style.
