Documentation exist that students could be in violation of separation of church and state interpretation of the constitution even though an extreme emergency exist. Should this be overlooked and could greater problems result from this action?

No, it is not illegal but, who knows, Nancy Pelosi is all for removing anything having to do with God from documents right now (and in speech, as well) so it is possible they could be charged. (Kidding about this incident but it is not a laughing matter!) This world is getting ridiculous when it comes to not allowing the name of God to be spoken in prayer or in conversation. It should always be permitted. It is insanity to think that you can take God out of everything these days. God is very important to me and is a part of my life; no one is going to tell me that I can't use His name or say a prayer in praise of Him. I will fight for the freedom that is mine when it comes to God.

Hi, After reading this post I thought I would answer. Everyone is born spiritual and born with a spirit but life is what we live and it is not always spiritual it is how one handles it that makes a difference. The person that caused all the deaths and harm was a very messed up person anger and hate can make a person do the damnest things. This was not an act of God. Many of these gunmen are into dark and evil witchcraft there is so greater idolatry than self hate and punishing others for things they cant control. That's why my brothers placed their kids in christian school because the world has gotten very perverse and rotten and evil, in a lot of ways public school is public disaster. Pray for the families involved, E4G

That is ridiculous. Students are allowed to mention God at school, it's within their rights of free speech, established in the Supreme Court case Tinker v. Des Moines, which stated that the first amendment still applies to students (with the exception of obscene or drug-related speech).

In an emergency situation such as this, anyone who would consider prosecuting the student would be disrespecting the seriousness of the event.

Please give us links to such documentation. A student in the U.S. could never be in violation of the principle of separation BETWEEN church and state, because students are not considered state employees. Legal definitions in other countries (like France), however, do differ somewhat.

That's just moronic. Students can say "God" or any variation thereon any time they're at school, the school just can't lead them in a state-sponsored prayer.

Way to minimize a serious issue.

No, God is just God and means a whole lot of things. Now if you start saying JESUS COME FOR ME!!! Now that's going a little to far. But God means the whole of divinity. Whatever we can't explain we say oh thats divine and then a whole religon starts.

No
It is protected under free speech, That person, is not the Government, and it is not trying to establish a state religion, therefor, no violation.

Any fool that would pursue a thing like that during those circumstances, should be taken to a mental ward. Where does the insanity end?

This does not seem to be a serious question as people under stress generally say what they wish particularly when they believe they are about to die.

Where the heck did you read that? Why didn't you cite at least one source? What a crock.
