The simple answer is "Because I like it". there's nothing wrong with having a varied musical palate -- it's called "breadth of taste".

Don't let your friends control who you are. (peer pressure, hint hint)
You are you're own individual, you don't need to follow anybody.
None of my friends like classical music, but they know I do, and they're ok with that.
Everyone has a different taste in music, your happens to be unique, and wondeful.
Most music today is just the same background beats, then some guitar strumming with wanna-be singers.
Classical music gives you a range of peaceful, loud, vocal, instrumental, orchestration...etc.
If you like it, you do. Add them to your MP3 player with pride, knowing that you stick out of the crowd... and I highly doubt you will lose your friends because you like classical music.
If you want, add some Jonas brothers to your MP3 player, that way there, if they do take it to listen to it, they will know that you still like them.

This is a real epidemic! The Irrational Fear of Classical Music!
I've been seeing this everywhere.
Do not be sucked in by the mundane and collective, stand out and don't give a damn if someone cares that you like extra strings in your ensemble.
Wearing white after labor day ain't gonna get you shot.

who gives a crap? you like what you like and if they can't accept that then they're not very good friends. Just tell them you like it (liking many kinds of music says more about your character anyway, rather than being a "one note")
and btw, I would respect you a million times more for having classical music on your mp3 instead of the jonas brothers, who unlike bach, brahms, and etc, SUCK!.

i love classical too and my friend asked me if i was an alien. But it doesn't matter to me, different people have different taste. Ask them to listen with you, maybe they might even like classical as much as you do.

i think it's ok if they see your mp3 with classical music. my friends also saw my mp3 with music they never knew i would have. friends will not despise you for what you like. if they can't respect what you like then i don't think they're good friends. live your life to the fullest and live for yourself:)
