Is it illegal to burn a CD for someone else on your computer or something if they did not buy the music? Because that's what someone told me and I already burned a CD for 2 people and I got like 5 CDs burned from my sis-in-law. So is it illegal to burn someone a CD if they didn't buy the music?

You can give them your CD. You are permitted a back-up to protect yourself. But you have to make sure it stays in your possession "with" the original. Personally, I would use the copy and keep the original as the back-up.

The technical answer is YES. This is Copyright infringement. Most people have discs that have been burned, personal compilations. So it is a fine line that determines this.
