i read the sword of shannara and i went to the elfstones of shannara but they dont look sound the same because at the end of the sword one shea was going to meet panomon but at the begging of the elfsotnes it is talking about some kids who are the leaders of the elcrys. so do i just have to keep reading to understand it or am i reading like the 3rd or 4th book

No, elfstones is next. In a couple chapters, you'll meet up with Shea's grandkid, who is the main character. The next book is Wishsong of Shannara, and that concludes that particular trilogy.

Then there is the series "Scions of Shannara" which are all interconnected, so you'll want to read them one after the other.

Then there is the series "Voyage of the Jerle Shannara"
and then there are some prequels.

I am pretty sure that the Elfstones is the 2nd book in that first trilogy. It has been years since i read them though. There are quite a few of the Shannara Books and they are all good.

I have read Sword of Shanara (Good book!) but not Elfstones yet, though I have it. I'll be interested in seeing the answer to this. Sorry I can't answer it.
