I know I am. Sometimes I can understand it going to a vote, but usually it seems that the asker just couldn't be arsed.

Yes I do. Especially if it's an important question. Can't wait to see if this one goes to voting. People who can't pick a best answer should ask themselves:
Does the answer address the question? (So many answers don't)
Is the answer supported by reason or just emotion or bias?
And if it's a choice between two or more possible best answers. just pick the best one that answered first.

Sometimes. But I know a lot of times it's just that the asker forgot about the question or simply couldn't choose a right answer (in which case I would delete the question, which is probably more frustrating yet). Not really too big a deal.

Not really, cuz I just go and vote for my answer. I have a much better chance of winning best answer if I vote for it myself than it being chosen by the person :) But it does feel better to get picked by the asker, sometimes I wish more people would choose best answer instead of just letting it go into voting.

basically whilst i concept the question replace into truthful and that i had a honestly sensible answer. If it is going to a vote and there are no thumbs, then it does make me ask your self why I bothered. no longer person-friendly to correctly known that only before time although and who is familiar with according to probability somebody will locate the website later by using seek. There are definitely regulars who're greater involved in reinforcing their own ideals and scoring factors against those they decide on as opposition. (sure, atheists have ideals too - regularly literalist interpretations of sacred literature and 'faith' which could be only as entrenched and narrow as any fundie.) the only think approximately answering there is to get greater effectual suggestions on the website.

I know I'm guilty of not picking a best answer, but that's usually if I can't decide which is the best.

I only get disappointed if I really put a lot of energy into answering a question and then it goes into voting.

I don't care, I just go and vote for my own answer. ;-)

It annoys me when I neglect to check my questions and one of my own goes to vote when I know perfectly well what answer I would choose. Sometimes that "Heads up!" email doesn't get through on time, and it usually irks me when somebody else chooses the best answer to a question I asked.

I think the asker of the question should have points steadily deducted from his total until he picks a best answer.

It can be preferable to the asker picking the wrong answer, which frequently happens.

YES!!!

I get a little offended by that. Well, not offended but it irks me. If I took the time to answer the question, I feel that the person should care enough to choose an answer.
