what is the difference between mattinee , tea, and cocktail - length dresses?

Question

I have been reading certain books, ok, romances, where a character wears one of the above-described length dresses.
any suggestions?? All you fashionistas, this one's for u!!

cocktail length is any dress that just above the knee to two inches above the ankle.

tea length is to inches above the ankle

ballerina length is to the ankle and usually considered an evening gown.

i have never heard of matinee length
