what ius 1/3 of 6/7? how did you get that answer?

6/21, which reduces to 2/7.

You multiply across.
That means to multiply 1 by 6 for the numerator (the top number) and then put it over 3 times 7 for the denominator (the bottom number). That's what you do for all fraction multiplication problems. And my math teacher taught me that when somebody says a fraction OF something, it really means that fraction TIMES something.

The answer is simple... 1/3 rd of 6/7 you need...
it is like 1/3rd of some number so let us assume it is x

ok.. then 1/3 rd of x will be = 1/3*x
here x = 6/7, so 1/3 of 6/7 will be = 1/3* 6/7 = 2/7
