My son was born 15 years ago when I was a very young 18, my dad said to me, "Bringing up a child is like building a house. If you get the foundations right, the house will be solid. Put the hard work in now & he'll grow up just fine."
My dad & I don't really get on, we're not close at all but I'll always be grateful for that piece of advice. He was right, so far I have a son to be proud of!

When I was in 7th grade, our middle school principal came in to talk to us about some issue or another in my government class. I don't remember why she said it, but she told us, "You only get nervous about the things you really care about."
20 years later, I still think back on this quote and realize how true it really is. The moment I'm no longer nervous about decisions at work, decisions at home, or decisions in life, I will know that it's time to move on so that I can start to really care again!

Decode this lyrics " Let your love grow"
My old man asked.
Do you want a comic book or a pair of new shoes for school?
Pick the comic book
Time were bad in those days..
Wear the old shoes back to school.
Worth it in time.

An old associate of mine once said, "Never forget what we are fighting for, and never give up the fight."
He was shot down in cold blood two years later, but I've never forgotten his words to me.

I remember the Navajo creation myth that my first-grade teacher, Mrs. White, taught me fifty-six years ago, and the stories about Spider Grandmother and her mischievous grandson...

"I wasted a lot of time not believing in myself."
This is what my exboyfriend's mother told me when I was in highschool - 7 years ago. She was talking to me about gaining more confidence in myself.
Everytime I get discouraged, I think of this and it helps me press on!
