I have seen a lot of sites in the Philippines that I could declare as paradise. But the whole country? Far from it.

I live here, and I love this country, but I am not blind, neither am I a liar.

The Philippines is a beautiful country with great people. The Mabuhay attitude makes staying in the Philippines really great.

As people have pointed out, if you can't afford to feed yourself and your family ... no place is a paradise. But, this does not take away from the natural beauty of the Philippines ... or from the great culture of the Philippines.

I think "paradise" is not the proper word to describe the Philippines. Its a beautiful country wherein you can't experience winter because there are only two seasons, wet and dry. Many tourists spots like nice mountain and beach resorts. See the Wonders of the World, such as Rice Terraces in Mountain Province, Mayon Volcano in Albay and the Chocolate Hills in Bohol. You may also visit the City of Golden Friendship, Cagayan de Oro, and a lot more...

That depends upon one's state of mind. For me, my mind tells me (and never thought about it as a paradise not until you raised the question) that it is one heck of a paradise. Why? For one, because it's where my family and I altogether live, two, it's where my closest friends are, three, the Philippines has it "ALL" amidst its imperfections or flaws. Finally, I always knew that real happiness can only be found in my own beloved land.

Only for a few. "Paradise" is a relative condition. To achieve paradise conditions for one, there are ten others paying the price for that at the opposite end of the spectrum.

No, never. ..How can it be a paradise when I cant even find a job that would give me a little bit of comfort in life? Of what is the use of the beautiful scenes when my stomach is grumbling for food? Of what is the use of paradise in my eyes when I feel unsafe of the Abusayaff and the kidnappers, pickpocketers, snatchers? How can you live in paradise full of corrupt politicians? Pray tell me.

Only for the visitors with money. Tourists enjoy the hospitality Filipinos are famous for without enduring the meager lifestyle they do.
