Aggressiveness is innate. Just having this inborn sense on the field that you're not gonna let some person beat you to the ball or that if they get the ball, you still are going to guard them so that you can possibly get the ball, that's being aggressive.
I also feel that aggression comes from having good agility. If you can sprint fast to a spot where someone is, then you are aggressive. I'm not sure how it can be learned. I disagree with the guy who said that every play you have to feel like you have to get the ball, because some people aren't like that, and we all have times when we jog on the field/court when we're not directly involved in the play.
Being aggressive will allow you to win. I'd say definitely develop some agility in order to be aggressive.

It is totally dependent on who you are playing with. I, personally, am very aggressive and the people I play with are, too. You will get hit, flipped, kicked (hopefully not on purpose) and you will be on the ground a lot, but if you love the sport it is worth it in the long run. Sometimes your taking a slide tackle will end for the better for your team. All in all soccer is very aggressive and uses all of your body, so you will need to be physically in shape. Example: I dove for a ball while playing keeper. The guys kneed me in the ribs possibly breaking one (we never had an X-ray) but they didn't get the goal. Because I have a high pain tolerance I was able to finish the game, play in the next and the other team didn't get the goal. You will be able to determine whether it is too much for you or not.

Building self-esteem is important in all sports. A strong sense of self will allow an individual to be more asertive and thus more aggressive. Lots of practice will strengthen skills and improve playing abilities. The better the player the higher the self-esteem the higher the player can asert themselves...the higher the level of aggressiveness.

You have to realize that every play has only one reason. It is to score.
