I had to do a science project like that in 5th grade, here are some ideas ~

~ What brand of popcorn pops the most kernels?

~ What brand of markers has the most ink in them?

~ Does orange juice make ice cubes when you put it in the freezer, like how water makes ice cubes?

~ Does diet or regular soda have more fizz in it?

These are just some ideas...
♥ I hope you do well on your research project!! Have fun! ♥

One thing that we are going to need to know is how long the paper, or presentation you have to give is. There are a lot of topics that you could cover that fit the description you are looking for but some are a lot faster to describe out then others. Such as the amount of oil that is consumed world wide today vs. the amount needed 10 years ago and the difference in cost of production vs. retail costs. Then there is the developement of 3rd world countries.. some are thriving and some are not but they all get about the same amount of aid. What are some doing that others are not. Or there is something simple such as the amount of cars on the road these days and how that effects the amount of toxic gas in the air. Like I said, depending on how long it needs to be varies which topic will be most useful. I wish you lots of luck!!

you could try recycling methods it's a popular topic ask any number of manufacturers if the end result of their product is bio degradable then you can show in a graph form over the last ten years and projected results can confirm that company's take their carbon footprint seriously and show what efforts have been made to make it a cleaner and more responsible world for you to inherit....i hope this might be an option for you.

Test to see how thick different brands of catsup really are.

Duplicate the pepsi challenge - can people really tell the difference between brands?

Research the physics behind a trebuchet, and build a couple. Change the variables, like arm length, swing arm length, rope length, and drop weight mass to see if you can maximize the range.

How about which light bulbs are actually better: the "standard" ones or the fluorescent ones that are supposed to produce the same energy and stuff for a lot less electricity usage but they cost a bit more.

Sorry if it sucks but that was my first thought.
