Lol. ralfcode's comment was funny. Prices would go up. Mom and Pop shops would soon spring up again. Domestic and International markets would suffer considering the amount of time that has passed that allowed many to conform to the standards of Wal-Mart. This would set the economy slightly back but wouldn't be catastrophic. I think it would be an opportunity rather. However, manufacturers may decided to place bids on other leading competitors in their area or in the area that Wal-Mart once covered. Stores like Target, Kmart, BJ's, etc. would have a chance to come back again. Where one goes down another always pops up.

Have you ever smashed an ant hill? The parking lot would look something like that, then if WallyWorld didn't open back up, Target or Kmart would pick up the slack. The business world hates a vacuum. If a major company failed either their rivals would come in or lots of smaller companies would spring up to fill the void.

I don't know about here but the s h i t would surly hit the fan in China. If we can survive a mortgage crisis, we can live without wal-mart. Besides, there is always Target.
