The whole country would rightfully be outraged at such cynical, unforgiveable behavior.

So why is it any difference with Armenians?

booman, why would one genocide-denier have a right to be angry at another genocide-denier?

Kelly, it's one thing for individuals not to dwell on past crimes their country committed.

It's another for a foreign government to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on lobbyists to deny it committed genocide. And for the U.S. President to listen.

illicit, I don't think you have to smear an entire civilization. It is just a matter of justice being done on this issue. As for the Kurds, they know what they have to do to not be invaded.

Actually, given the sheepish, zombie-like nature of most Americans, it would come as no surprise if they agreed with such a stupid comment especially if it came out of the mouth of His Royal Majesty Dubya's filthy piehole. Some people are willing to believe everything he says as if it were holy writ...and holy writ, after all, ain't really worth much, is it?

Let's just wait and see how long it takes for King Pea-brain to shoot off his mouth and deny the Holocaust. We have heard an endless sewage stream of lies ever since he usurped the democratic process and stole the throne, so this one shouldn't be long in coming.

As to the difference with the Armenians, the difference is His Majesty's corporate masters see no profit in acknowledging the Armenian Genocide, and have instructed the Royal Lackey to keep his big mouth shut on that one.

It goes back to the saying "Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it." There is overwhelming evidence of the Holocaust. Only recently however, are people admitting it was a genocide. The Armenian conflict can not be described any different than a genocide. We need to recognize this and do something about it. Americans don't believe what is happening to the Armenians and in Darfur is important because it doesn't directly impact our country. But in so many ways, it does. We claim to be a world superpower, why can't we help those countries less fortunate than we are? And going back to Germany and the Holocaust.....what happened on the German motherland was a disgrace to mankind. But Germany was one of the most developed countries at the time of WW2. IF it couldn't happen to them, it makes sense that smaller countries can succumb to the same pressures, and makes us think, is the US capable of the same thing?

Rachael, it is usually to meet an item in their agenda. The sad thing is this is well-documented and real. Regards, Dan Bojo-you are correct. The six million is an approximate number, because there were more than that. Hitler and friends also got rid of 500,000 other people as well. You remind me of Stalin's "That number is only a statistic."

Okay. . . So you are angry that the President is listening to someone that has a differing viewpoint? Am I getting this right?

This is something that happens daily - sitting and listening doesn't mean a damn thing. I am sure he has also listened to a few nuts that have told him of spirits and UFO's, too.

As much as I dislike Bush as a President, he is doing something that many forget to do - listen to the opposing side to find out their thoughts. If you don't know the other side of the argument, how can YOU have one of your own????

Besides, they can deny all they like - the evidence is right there for all to see. It would be like stating the sky isn't blue on a bright sunny day.

addition:
Does Bush NOT see it? I think it is more about allowing the Armenians to feel like they are getting the chance to voice their "thoughts" to the one considered to be "the leader of the most powerful nation on earth" than it is about believing what they are stating to him.

Turkey should be exposed as the murderous, barbaric society it is.
And if the USA does not stand in the way of its invasion of Northern Iraq,so it can murder more Kurds,we are no better than they are.

Edit-a society that has engaged in the genocide of Armenians,Jews,Christians and Kurds,to name a few,is barbaric.

My mom was married to an American legal immigrant from Germany.

He told us that they didn't speak of it at home or in school.

Like it never happened.

I don't know if this is different now though. His comments were from the 50's & 60's.

You stole my idea before it was completely formed. Good one!

Just shows how much Bush has lost touch with reality. And logic.
The man has gone around offending everybody, and attacking the wrong people. And some still support him.

There isn't any difference.

All genocides are HORRIBLE and should be denounced, regardless of politics.

This is a Human Rights issue.

yeah... and here's the KICKER...

we're NOT saying it happened BECAUSE we need the airspace to attack Iraq, who committed their own genocide in the 80s/90s... that we BASICALLY ignored at the time because it was with the weapons that we gave them?

it's pretty ridiculous...
