I kind of hate phrase! Most of the people who I hear say that. Well, to be honest. . . there talking about nothing but sex. Really. . . that's we have going? Pfffff! come on. I would like to beileve this life a lot more to offer then meaning flings and one stands. Are we that empty? Is that really life at its fullest?
No matter what, people are always gonna have regrets about something. You can say you won't but that's a lie. How can you not?! Every choice you made your gonan be proud of?Especailly in todays' society. We live in such a shallow, over implusive age.

Are we really living life to its fullest? Or just stealing from it and taking as much we can. Not really knowing anything about this life we've been given?

I personally hate that statement. It's just so generic to me. I understand what they're trying to say. . . But I can't stand it. Overrated statement to me.

Thoughts?

Great question. Have a star. I cringe when I hear the phrase because while it seems to answer something, when you look at it closely, it says nothing. I saw where one person explained what living life to the fullest meant. This person broke down her day task by task and added the word fully in front of each task. "I fully brush my teeth" instead of "I brush my teeth".

I think the phrase really means keeping busy and the mind occupied so we don't have time to think about a meaningless existence.

The first answer was "Live each day as your last". It seems to me that unless we have a real purpose in life, then living as if this day was my last, has no meaning except to keep so busy as to forget the end is coming.

That's a lot of hate for one little statement! Living Life to the Fullest has little to do with sex. What it really means is enjoying every day as much as you can. Do what you like to do. Find friends who like to do the same stuff. Hang out. If you are not having fun, you are doing it wrong. This doesn't mean that you have to be high, or stupid, or never sit quietly. It means don't be a couch potato. It means there is enough crap in the world that you have to put up with. Don't spend time worrying, or hanging out with people who worry or sulk. Take some time and find out how you can enjoy life more. THAT is living life to the fullest. I am not bad-mouthing sex. When done right, nothing is better. I am just saying it is not the only thing in life.

You cannot answer this question as a general question. Every person has to determine what living life to the fullest means to them. Maybe those folks you refer to really believe that sex is living life to the fullest. For me, having loving family and friends is the most important. If I have that and enjoy as much possible time with them and treat people good. Then when I die I feel I have lived life to the fullest. For someone else, maybe jumping off the Grand Canyon is living life to the fullest. It all depends on the individual meaning of it. If it really bothers you that much, then the next time someone says that ask them to explain it to the fullest. Good Luck.

It means to live your life without any regrets. You have to live your life each day without holding anything back. If there's something you wanna do and can do , than try to may sure you do it because with the world the way it is, there's no way of knowing when your last day may be. You have to make the most out of every opportunity you have, good or bad.

Quit worrying about what everyone else is doing.

I'm not saying that as a criticism of you or your post, this is actually my answer to your question.

Until we learn to look inward and focus on ourselves and quit worrying about what others are doing, since we can only control our own actions and reactions anyway, there is no way to live our lives to the fullest.

I think it sounds general because it means different things to different people. To me it means working toward my goals and doing all the things I've always dreamed of doing. Taking chances, taking risks...Making the most out of what I've been given and remembering that I will only travel this way once.
