go to start, then go to run, then type in MSCONFIG. Now in the box click on the start-up tab. There you should be able to do a "selective start-up".

Before you turn off ANYTHING, find out what it is! My Norton, as an example, runs several processes that all show in the list of active processes.
If there are things you do not want to start, download and run CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com. It does more than just clean out cookies and the registry. It has a function to allow you to remove things from the startup menu without all the BS that Windows gives you if you use the msconfig program.
BE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TURNING OFF FIRST!

Okay hit this start, run, and type in msconfig you will see a box open up called System Configuration Utility. Then hit the startup tab on the right and unclick all the programs you dont want popping up when the pc starts. Once you do this the pc will restart with you hitting okay and from then on it should smooth sailing. Hope that helped

What you should do is tell him the truth, and if he doesn't believe you, then you CAN'T do anything about it! If he wants to believe his mom and sister, then let him. If he doesn't believe you, then he wasn't for you anyway. I am really sorry your going through this. I honestly wouldn't want to be with someone with parents and siblings like his... There will be more guys that will come around. Make sure to tell him the truth and if he chooses not to believe you, let it go. Maybe he will come back.... You never know!

You go to the run box & type in msconfig. But first go to this site & read & follow directions. It will keep unnecessary files from loading up. Good Luck! its easy
