I just thought she was too shy to buy one on her own. I thought she would enjoy it. Anyway, I told her I bought her a toy and she started crying and made me feel like a dirty old man for buying it for her. Needless to say, I didn't give it to her... Why does she feel this way?

If you two hadn't already discussed her wanting one, why would you just go buy it? That's a pretty big assumption to make. What if she bought YOU a vibrator because she thought you were too shy to acknowledge that you like accepting customers through the back door?

Well some women are just old-fashioned. Maybe there is a good chance that she is uptight about exploring her sexuality by herself. Believe it or not, some people think giving themselves pleasure is a dirty thing. You should sit her down and ask her if she has ever given herself pleasure. If she gets all defensive on you, she is ashamed to talk about it, that means that she would not understand your gift. I think that you should have given it to her on a night that you were spoiling her in the bedroom and use it as an enhancement to your lovemaking. You can't avoid this so go and have the talk. Also, why exactly did you give it to her?? Are you sure it isn't becuase you want to watch her with it?? I don't think the reason is because she is too shy.

I guess she doesn't masturbate. Her sex drive is probably so repressed that she only ever 'makes love'. Did you know your wife was a non-sexual being? I'm really wondering if you two only use like 3 different positions and only if you 'set the mood'...sad. If you knew your wife never masturbates, then why would you buy her a vibrator? Are you trying to let her know it's okay to be sexy? If so, the poor woman is going to cry. Her whole life she has been trying to repress that sexuality and turn it into an emotion!

Try saying this no no dear. I bought it for you to use on me . I would like you to touch me here and there with it on. It would feel so nice.. And you will like it. and then once she feels comfortable that she thinks its for you ( and it is try it hehe) you can slowly introduce her to things. maybe you can lead the way while she is relaxing and do certain things with it on her.
Maybe that will break her shyness over time.
YOu can cover this up depends on how well you explain your self and how beleiveable you are.

Just try giving her some time. Let it be something she experiments with by herself and then maybe she'll begin to feel comfortable experimenting with you. And maybe you two should sit down and explain to her why you wanted to buy it for her.

I wouldn't cry (cause big girls don't cry).
I would however.. not really like it.
Sex with my husband is wonderful. Nothing better. Even on the occasion that he doesn't completely "satisfy" me... I love him and his body.
