I just never knew this and was too lazy to try on different sizes, but I'm usually a size 3 maybe 5 (juniors/womens), about what size am I for the 20s/30s standard?? Or am I being totally stupid and does that refer to length? Oh I don't know that's what I'm asking the damn question :)

Add approximately 20 onto your typical size (say you wear a size 5, you'd be about a size 25 in jeans like Lucky Brand...). It isn't an absolute standard because sizes vary from brand to brand (I wear anywhere from a 14 to a 20 LOL)
The 20s/30s sizes are typically approximate waist measurements.

Just take a pair off the hanger that "looks like about your size" and hold them up against your waist; if they reach 1/2 way around, they are your size, or very close, take that pair and grab a pair of the next bigger/next smaller into the fitting room. It should be one of those sizes. I hope this helps.
