I have an HP Pavillion a1220n desktop, and im just wondering what the maximum RAM is i can put on it

4gb .. but unless ur running vista ultimate or premium the operating system wont detect over about 3gigs without modifying ur bootini with a switch ..

Hi. From the web: "You can upgrade your HewlettPackard Pavilion a1220n to up to a maximum of 4.0 GB Memory, the system has 4 sockets to install Memory, already with 512 MB = 256 MB (removable) + 256 MB (removable) standard Memory installed. For best system performance use the maximum amount of allowed Memory per slot for your system."

Assuming ...

Around 1 - 4GB.

Average would be about 2GB.

But, stick with 2GB, I've heard installing 4GB of RAM (forget the exact reason) can actually slow your computer down.
