But he doesn't need it... when Guliani or Romney end up with it, he can then run as an independent... and if the popular vote has anything to do with the actual turn out you may see the first Independent president in a long time... and if he's got real balls he'll grab Dennis Kucinich for his vice because Dennis is never Ever going to get the democratic nomination....
wouldn't that be a victory for the people of this country?
even the hate club that is going to roast me for this question/statement... in spite of your ignorance, it would be good for you as well...

Victory for the people??? What people? The terrorists? They are the only ones who would benefit from they're kind of isolationist, pre 9/11 thinking.

PS. Don't tell me WHAT WOULD BE GOOD FOR ME. That's the job of the liberals, and NO, they don't know what would be good for me either.

You want a great ticket, well here it is.

Thompson-Lieberman . Great on protecting the USA, and balanced on social issues.

A Paul / Kuchinich would be the best thing to happen to America in a very long time but unfortunately a total pipe dream.

Im hoping Paul wins the republican nomination as im sure he will easily beat any democrat running against him on the issues - (which by the way are so simple - follow the constitution) . You would think a lot of people would agree that the US needs to stop 'policing' the world but - as you can see by the other people answering this question - doesnt look like that mindset is going to change anytime soon.

Perhaps when china or India becomes the worlds economic superpower, perhaps then we'll see some change - but untill some drastic event such as that I believe it the American people who are being cheated.

-- "We the people..." ? - I think Not...

PS.
- Ron Paul swore not to run as an Independent - so you can count that option out.

Look Ron Paul will never, EVER get the Republican nomination because your whole political system is rigged. It is bought and paid for by the richest in your land. Ron Paul is a good guy who tells the truth. When was the last time in your history that you had a President like that? Someone that a sensible person could believe in? Could trust? Someone that you could listen to and know that when they spoke about you, the people that make up your nation, that they were being sincere and that they actually cared about what you thought? I thought Ron Paul was a Doctor? I am sure they only allow sane people to practice medicine in the US so those who say he is loony are way off the mark. The guy talks sense. The rest of the candidates (Republican and Democrat) want to stay in the middle east of that you can be 100% certain and it isn't to fight terrorists.

No. Ron Paul will not get the Republican nomination. I have often thought that having A Democratic President and a Republican Vice President (or vice versa), would be an interesting idea, if not a good one. Not to burst your bubble, but, Ron Paul has said he will not run as an Independent.

The worst thing any Republican candidate could do would be to run as an independent if they don't get the nomination. That would prove that they don't really care about this country, just promoting themselves. The effect would be to dilute the conservative vote essentially handing the Democrat the election - something I'm sure Ron Paul supporters recognize as catastrophic. You may not like Rudy, or Mitt, or Huckabee; but they're a FAR better option than Hillary or Obama.

You have to be joking. There is no way Ron Paul is going to get nominated in any major party. If he runs as an independant it would be great because he will draw votes from the GOP. A few thousand 20 somethings who blog may vote for him and a few hard shell libertarians but no one else will. Most people see him for what he really is looney.
His pie-in-the-sky ideas would never make it through Congress in the first place. His ideas are unrealistic.

Ron Paul running as in an independent would equate to acting as a "spoiler" for the republican party similar to Ralph Nader drawing votes from the democrat candidate. If Ron Paule wants to hurt the party, he will run. If he does not want to hurt his party, he will lose quietly.

I don't hate Ron Paul, I just don't care for his stand on the issues. But I agree wholeheartedly he will NEVER get the Republican nomination. The only chance he's got, and it's still a slim one at best, is to run independently.
