If you bought a prebuilt machine,(Hp, dell.etc) you can find out the information on the website. If not, usually you can open up the computer and find out! You can look on the memory and it will give you a number like PC 3200 DDR or 800 DDR2. Something similar on the actually memory sticks. For the video card, if its a fairly new computer, it will most likely have a PCI-Express slot. When you open your computer, most video card slots are the first one. If that slot is color brown, it means it is an AGP slot. If it is black, it is a PCI-Express slot. Those are the common colors for those slots. So if you have a PCI-Express slot, you can buy any kind of PCI-Express card and it will work for your computer. Now if you get a real high end video card, you might need to also get a new power supply to accommodate for the new video card.

I'm studying to be a computer technician and can say with authority you do NOT have a PCI express 16.

Or AGP. Even that would be fairly nice.

PCI video cards are still around...but even a halfway decent AGP will beat the pants off the best PCI card. Best bet is to start saving your pennies for a new computer, or barring that, get a motherboard with at least an AGP slot.

As a sidenote, look for one that has an 'extended' slot to handle the AGP Pro cards. Those are rather rare but they run rings around their plain-AGP brethren.

looks like all ya have available is PCI slots NOT pci express. The cards are going to be more and not as good as it's an old technology. You might want to have your RAM upgraded because it only comes with 512 mb not much by any means. Really and truly though with a celeron processor and that little ream it might be worth it to look into getting a new comp before you go and drop a couple hundred on a graphics card

This model has no AGP slot, so you are stuck, you can however add a PCI card, but for the price against performance, I wouldnt recommended.
