Open the case of the PC. If the drives are both set to auto/cable select, and If both drives are connected to the same cable, the master is at the end of the cable, the slave in the middle.

Now-a-days they should be set by the cable connection and computer. You just need to make sure you have the pins set to cable select. If you look on the hard drive it should show you how to set the little plastic thing on the pins to "cable select." Your computer will do the rest.

often times it truly is contained in the cabling. attempt replacing the cabling round and observe if this alterations. ascertain the jumper settings are fantastic on the back of each and every stress. also take the old stress out of the equation to substantiate the hot stress boots in any respect. yet another component to attempt is making use of the cable elect on the secondary stress.

look at behind your harddrive, the one that has small pin...

you can set your harddrive into master and slave by adjusting the pin, there is also an illustration on your harddisk on where you should insert to pin to set it into master or slave...

your OS must be installed in your primary master drive...

hope this helps you...
