Beryllium would not be found in its pure form. It is far to reactive. It is what is called an "alkaline earth metal" and would primarily be found in salt or in an oxidized form.

You can find more inforamation at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beryllium

Im not sure what you mean by found, but I will try to answer your question.

Beryllium is part of many minerals that are found in the earth's crust (which are compounds), and natural sources of it are almost exclusively in compounds.

Pure beryllium metal is somewhat common though, but only as a manufactured product (scientist extracted it from compounds), and it is used in many scientific applications, often due to the particular ways it interacts with some types of radiation.

Most of beryllium is found in the form of Beryl, a mineral with the formula Be3Al2(SiO3)6. People who mine this mineral are either allergic to it or not. Those allergic last less than 2 weeks in the mines on average. Long term exposure produces berylicosis (sp?) a lung problem. Exposure to BeO can be fatal and exposure to the fumes of melting Be alloys can also cause sickness. (Used in BeCu spring material)
