they are the primary blueprint of the US political system, the first 10 are the Bill of Rights which outline the basic liberties that come with citizenship, the other were added to either correct mistakes, resolve new issues that arose after the nations founding, or to cancel out previous amendements. Otherwise the rest of the constitution also outlines the powers of goverment and the powers of citizens.

The first ten amendments are the Bill of Rights. The rest are just that, amendments to the original Constitution.
