Can i move my RAID 0 hdd's from onboard to an PCI card adapter while still keeping my OS intact?

i want to improve performance by moving away from the onboard RAID ports to a PCI RAID adapter with maybe 4 ports so i can put another hdd or 2 on it... is this possible?

I wouldnt if I were you, 4 drives on RAID-0 is a diasater waiting to happen.

If you going that direction for speed only and dont care much about the data, fine, otherwise, try RAID-5 with 4 drives.

Depend on the drivers, if its close enough, it may restore to the new controller, otherwise you will need a repair install to slip the drivers in after the restore.
