drug test results?

I had an interview for rent-a-center Oct 4. The next day Oct 5 the manager called me and asked me if I would take a drug test . So I went and took one that day. He had also told me that my background and DMV check came back good. Its now Oct 10. I called the manager today and he told me the results werent in yet. So I decided to call the lab where they sent the specimen and they told me that Rent-a-Center received the results the same day I took the test. What I would like to know is how long drug test results take and is it possible that they are lying about having the results because they know longer want to hire me? I also do not use drugs so that is not a concern. Thanks for your answers!!!

If the test was clean, don't worry about that. Call the manager tomorrow and sound warm and tell you are hoping to work for him. His reply will tell more than how long the test actually takes. ( a couple of hours, but whose test was ahead of yours?)

Edit: Do not tell the manager you called. That is like telling him he is a liar, and he will take as such. They paid for a background test. It looks like they want you.

The hold up more than likely is with the background check and the DMV Check.

Wait until October 19, then call again Two weeks should be enough time for them to obtain results form the DMV and the background check.

My husband just had to have a drug test because he was in a traffic accident with his company truck, he took the test in a hospital in the same afternoon of the accident, and then the next day they release the results to his company. Well, I think it's taking way too long for your test to come back. I don't think anybody in the lab is authorize to release any information to you. They will only do so to your prospective job, and it IS weird that they are not getting back to you in a timely manner. Try to contact them and ask about it. That will also show that you are interested in working for them, you are showing concern for your paperwork.

i dont think the rent a center would lie to you because they dont want to hire you anymore...maybe they never got the results...i would call the manager again and let them know that the lab stated the results were given to them...

Drug tests can be done the same day...no more that 3

it could be possible there are other reasons for them not to call you back;How's your experience and referances. But, they did have you take a drug test, did they pay for it? or did you. maybe manager doesn't know results are in, too busy to check, blew you off till he has more time,...I'd wait a few more days and if nothing happens, call them back!! Good luck!! Just Don't stress ,doesn't do any good!!

Never say never. You can have "false positive".

Normally, its take 72-96 hours until test results are available. It does not mean, that employer can not change his mind

no they CANT do that. since u dont take drugs, if they say u failed ur durg test so they dont hire u, they can get into alot of truble. but usually it takes a lil while since they wanna pick the best possible employees out of a pool. but as far as wat ur saying u didnt do nething wrong and should get the job.

drug tests are fake proof... if they weren't what would be the purpose? idk if this answers your question...
