No, argument by post-it note on fridge is really childish, scratching notes in the paint on the door of the fridge is really, really childish.

Arguing has nothing to do with age. However, I will say that Post-It Notes on the refrigerator door are distinctly non-U. The correct way for couples to argue in writing is by solicitor's letter.

I would have said that the correct way is by telegram from separate addresses but the GPO spoilt that years ago, and one must take into account the ridiculous cost of a respectable apartment in town these days.

Airmail letter from separate countries is acceptable, but do try to get the flimsy blue pre-paid envelopes with the red and blue stripes around the edges. Heavyweight fancy stationery and "notelets" are damningly middle-class.

It could be worse .... you could communicate via a private note (intended as a joke) pinned to the dog, only to have the recipient PUBLISH IT FOR ALL TO SEE ON Y/A!!!

on the fridge yes but if you get creative and put it in the sugar bowl or on the flip side of the toilet seat it is very mature

that's not funny.....last december i got a post it note from my ex attached to the bathroom mirror "asking" me to leave, then divorce papers soon after that.
