I reset my broadband modem/router about once a month. It just seems to get clogged up and need the buffer clearing. This usually manifests by slowing the connection or causing me not to be able to find the net. Switching it off or run a 'repair' from the property dialogue will fix it. No problem. Steve

There's no "requirement" to do do on either.
In fact, if you reset either, you will most likely mess up the "setup" and have to call your ISP or router manufacturer to get them set up again so that they function properly.
It's best to avoid "resetting" them unless, you do so knowing exactly what you are doing, and have the knowledge to reimplement the settings that will get you reconnected to the internet.
Hope this helps.
