It will get better after you have the baby...probably once you're 8 weeks post pardum. If you nurse though, it might last longer, but won't be as bad as it was during pregnancy. Sorry!

Oh honey...I am feeling your pain. I had GREAT skin before, and it just wasnt clear, but I never had a blemish on my face, EVER!! I went the whole time through high school and managed to maybe have one zit here or there. BOY OH BOY did I get a shocker when I got pregnant. I am 22 weeks along right now, and there is no sign of my face clearing up!! I realized that my face started to get smaller bumps at first, (around your time) and by the time I was 15-18 weeks....I cried and cried at my face. I dont want to scare you....but there is a chance that it isnt going to clear up until you have that little rug rat!! On the other hand, I hear that using pro-active is a REALLY good way to keep a handle on pregnancy acne. I have had a couple friends that used it, and it seemed to keep alot of the problems away. My doctor told me to use the St. Ives face wash and leave it on my face over night. DO NOT RINSE OFF. (until morning). I thought this would irritate my face, but I found that it works quite well. It doesnt clear things up 100%...but it seems to be working alright for me. (Just make sure if your skin gets dried out that in the morning, you use a good moisturizer.) I hope this helps and dont worry.....I KNOW FOR A FACT that it goes away after you have to baby. (least it did for my sisters.) Take care and SMILE....acne or not, you have it because there is a BEAUTIFUL little miracle inside you. :)

Is it common to be more prone to acne when you're pregnant?
Pregnancy sometimes brings on acne or makes it worse. Higher levels of hormones called androgens can prompt the sebaceous glands in your skin to get bigger and boost production of an oily substance called sebum.

So in non technical turns, your acne is because your body is producing alot more hormones and this is just one of the side effects. After your pregnancy is over and your body goes back to normal you will have your beautiful skin back, But in the mean time just make sure you wash your face and dont pick at it so you dont scar it,

It will probably last as long as pregnancy, and for a while after.

Any of the over the counter kits are safe, the acnefree system worked well for me.
