No, I'm a postmodern ironic pedant. I will not walk on the grass...

I will, however, go to great lengths to ensure that I run, skip, hop, turn cartwheels and urinate on the grass, if the sign does not forbid such activities...

I also like to ring the bell for attention, It's surprising how few people who display such signs actually want to pay you any attention - even if you do a little dance for them...

There is a Starbucks in Edinburgh with a sign in the toilet saying "put only toilet paper down the toilet", so I obediently peed in the sink so as not to defile their toilet of which they were obviously so proud...

Another compulsion of mine is to "wait here". I have been doing this for many years and am now confident enough to tell anybody who offers me assistance that I'm very good at waiting and will be fine without the help, thanks...

I'm also surprised by the number of my fellow pedestrians who ignore traffic signs. The amount of people I've had to stop from walking the wrong way down a one way street over the years is incredible. I've had to beat a few of them quite severely. I wish there were more civic minded folk like me - there'd be far fewer accidents if people obeyed these rules, I'm sure...

Life just wouldnt be fun if you didnt sometimes break the rules.

If the sign says 'dont walk'...its almost an invitation to do the opposite.
