PPC or Intel? Some PPC Macs like my PB G4 has Classic in the supplied Install DVD that I can install on my Mac if I wanted to. Other older Macs can Install OS 9 in another partition and boot to it. Intel Macs can run some OS 9 programs using a 3rd party program called SheepShaver. I've read that it isn't all that good though, but that was like a year ago.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to run a "classic" Mac application on MacOs X. The Intel based Macs will not run MacOs 9 which you need to run those applications. If you have an older Mac that doesn't have the Intel processors, you can install MacOs 9 alongside MacOs X. You can then switch between the system software and/or run both at the same time.

Older Mac's were equipped with OS-9 Operating System.
This Software will not generally work on OSX, or OS 10.1,10.2, 10.3. or 10.4.
Some of the older programs will work fine on Classic which is an emulation of OS-9 But not all.
Some of the OS9 programs have been upgraded so that they will work on OSX, This is the only way you can use OS9 Programs on OSX. If they are not available for OSX then I am sorry to say you are out of luck.
