There are many organs/body parts that we can do ultrasound studies on. We can look at the carotid arteries, salivary glands, thyroid, heart, breasts, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, common bile duct, aorta, vena cava, kidneys, spleen, bladder, uterus and ovaries (or testicles), large veins or arteries in the arms or legs, soft tissue masses in any part of the body......But I am assuming your friend is having a Pelvic Ultrasound.
If she is having a pelvic ultrasound, and she is not pregnant, her doctor wants to look at her uterus and ovaries. These scans can be done to look for causes of pelvic pain or unusual menstrual bleeding, such as bleeding too long or too often. Maybe her doctor felt a mass during a pelvic exam, and wants that evaluated. We can find ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, a thickened endometrium or hydrosalpinx (fluid or pus in the Fallopian tubes).

Getting an ultrasound can be various different reasons besides being pregnant because an ultrasound is a safe way to exam your organs without surgery. The doctors may feel necessary because ultrasounds are able to tell whether you have cancer, taumors, and they can also be used or guys as well.

The can ultrasound the abdomen to look at most organs or the heart (echocardiogram) or the legs to look at the vascular system or the neck to look at the blood vessels.
There are multiple reasons to have an ultrasound while not pregnant. It's very safe, zero radiation method to look "inside" the human body.

A ULTRASOUND CAN show variety of things. It can show the ovaries and the uterus. It can be done on other organs of the body as well to show how they are working. I had a heart ultrasound a few weeks ago to look at the valves of the heart.

I have a history of ovarian cysts. I had many ultrasounds way before I was ever pregnant because my doctor needed to check on the progress of the cysts I had--whether they were growing or shrinking.

As a matter of fact, I just had an ultrasound last week. My doctor wanted to determine the size of my uterus and ovaries, and to see if I had any fibroid tumors on them. I have had this done before, and had fibroids removed after they were spotted on the ultrasound. They can measure the size of the fibroids and the size of the uterus and ovaries. It helps to determine any other abnormalities, also. Hope this answers your question!

25 weeks is 6 months already! you've got a turning out to be abdomen and experience a touch one kicking you. If the child shifting or kicking, you may see from the exterior of your abdomen. you will possibly not be pregnant yet who understand. Did you tell your mothers and dads which you have been raped? tell them. you may get an ultrasound achieved to make certain once you're pregnant or not. tell your mom and have her take you to the wellbeing care expert.

They can perform ultrasounds if there are any questions of growths, or to help figure out why someone isn't feeling well. Sometimes they do them if women are having long or severe periods to see if they can figure out what's wrong. They can use it to see if there are kidney stones, or cysts on ovaries. Lots of different reasons.
