I bought one as soon as they came out and got so fed up of it overheating and freezing that I sold it. I absolutely refused to buy a fan, why should I have to after paying all that money???

I was wondering if these issues have been resolved yet, or are people having to buy the fans still?

Also if anyone owns the Xbox elite. How does that run? Also what are the differences (aside from the hard drive size) between the elite and the regular 360?

Thanks!

Most of the issues have been worked out and with the new Xbox 360's, you shouldn't have to buy a fan although it would be a bit safer if you did. For the Elite, it has a different kind of motherboard (which is now included in the newer Xbox 360 Premium). The differences between them are that the Elite has some better HD graphics and a more powerful proccessor. Also, the elite is black. Plus, it comes with more accessories and it shouldn't over heat unless you leave it on for 5 days straight. Hope that answers your question.

A lot of people say it has but I don't buy it. I mean the Xbox forum is packed with people waiting for their Xboxes, and those who have gone thru as many as 9! A new 65nm GPU which should help cool the unit is due to come out early 08, so I recommend at least waiting for that b4 you buy. Also its important to remember that although you get a 3 year waranty for the red ring of death, If this does happen to you, you are basically screwed. Because the send you back a refurbished console (for free) but this console is packed with parts lying around their warehouses, so you will most likely get a dysfunctional 360 right off the bat. I mention this because i was gonna buy one, and just if it broke down I assumed that I would get a replacement with the latest technology, THIS IS NOT THE CASE. So its better to wait, check out the Xbox forum for the latest news, and get a 360 when it is SURE that the problems have been fixed.
